IREC

The Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC: “Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya”) is a research institution under the trust of different governmental and private organizations which include the Departments of Economy, Industry and Innovation of the Catalan Government, the Spanish Ministries of Industry and Science & Innovation and leading companies in the energy management and distribution sectors such as ENDESA, GAS NATURAL, REPSOL, ENAGÁS, CLH AND ALSTOM.

IREC is in the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) for Sustainable Energy recently designated by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. IREC also belongs to the JTI FCH as a member of the N.ERGHY Group and the “Spanish Technological Platform of Fuel Cells and Hydrogen”.

Within ENDURANCE, IREC is in charge of modified single cell EIS characterization, (micro)structural/surface post-mortem analysis of cells subjected to degradation tests (XPS, SEM-EDX, TEM-EELS, FIB-SEM, Raman or HT-XRD), EWOS design, integration and characterization, as well as workshop organization.
